Hey there squirrel friends! With winter coming around the corner, you know what that means...cuffing season! Sadly for those readers who have loved and lost, there won’t be a bae this season, but that doesn't mean you can’t win them back! Luckily, two of our very own Queen’s students (scandalous!) have shared their story on how they loved, lost, and managed to love again! Here is how to win back a bae in 10 days.
How They Met
As the classic story holds these two (let's call them Cinderella and Prince Charming) were on the same floor in residence and in the same program. She loved how much he talked about his family and how his friends clearly loved him. Soon the two became inseparable when studying, hitting the gym, and eating... but for some reason they were only PLATONIC (I know right). Cute boy, cute girl... just date already. He flew home for Christmas break, but that didn't stop them from talking all day every day!
The First Encounter
Those weeks apart were all our love birds needed. When they got back from break they were HOT AND HEAVY (I mean, as hot as you can get in res). But Cinderella wasn’t just looking for a friends with benefits...she wanted more, she wanted to find her prince charming! But with Prince Charming still getting over his last princess, Cinderella's patience grew slim. She knew she deserved more from him but time at school had run out...it was summer break and she was turning into a pumpkin. It wasn’t until he surprised her in her hometown with a glass slipper... errrrrr, I mean written love note, about how much he wanted to date her *cue awws*! After that, the two were set to live happily ever after.
The Downhill
Sadly, even after that romantic gesture, Prince Charming was flying back home for the summer and these two lovers had to endure 4 months of distance. Week after week, the convos grew shorter and less meaningful. In a last ditch effort, she flew to see him! I know what you're thinking, YAAAAAS QUEEN, you are girlfriend of the year, that will make him open his eyes right?! WRONG! The trip only made Cinderella feel worse about their relationship and they grew further apart.
The Breakup
While blasting “Potential Breakup Song - Aly and AJ, Cinderella called Prince Charming and said enough was enough - they were over. He knew he needed to do something big to show her how much he wanted her back so he devised a plan.
The Comeback
Prince Charming called Cinderella and said he had returned early to see her. They went to a park by her house where he had set up candles and poured his heart out. He told her how much he wanted her back and made her a scrapbook of how much he loved her. But Cinderella wasn’t ready to forgive and forget just yet, she said she needed proof over time and not just a few big gestures (#gogirl). Because as we all know “waiting for you is like waiting for rain in this drought - CINDERELLA STORY.” So Prince Charming set out on his mission. He brought her roses every day for 3 days while she was at work. At Queen's, he got her champagne, cake, and a present for her birthday. One day, he invited her back to his place and took out a jewelry box so Cinderella was like iS hE GoNNa PrOPosE?!? but no, he was just giving her a diamond necklace that he paid for by SELLING HIS PRIZED POSSESSIONS.
The Win
After all of that, the two went back to a normal routine. They studied together, lifted together, and ate at lazy together until Cinderella finally felt the rain. The rain that came after the long drought and told her she needed to get back with her Prince Charming.
